Location

Geographically, Hunan is located in the south of the middle reaches of the Yangtze River, stretching from 108°47′to 114°15′east of longitude, and 24°39′to 30°08′north of latitude.

Today's Changsha is the political, economic and cultural centre of Hunan Province , China . Five districts--- Furong, Tianxin, Yuelu, Kaifu and Yuhua, three counties---- Changsha County, Wangcheng, Ningxiang and one city--- Liuyang City are under its jurisdiction.

In addition, the city was home to other revolutionary leaders including Liu Shaoqi, Huyaobang and former Chinese prime minister, Zhu Rongji. Therefore, it acts as a good place to learn more about China's recent history.

Introduction

Shaoshan is famous as the hometown of the chairman Mao Zedong. It is also the place where Mao lived, studied and launched the early revolution activities when he was young. Shaoshan has attracted millions of visitors from all over the world with its predominant historical position and splendid scenery.

Location

Shaoshan covers an area of 210.38 square kilometers, 0.1% of the Hunan province. The city locate in the northwest of Xiangtan city, stretching from 112°24′to 112°38′east of longitude, and 27°51′to 27°59′north of latitude.

Climate

Shaoshan contains large area of hills in middle Hunan. The climate is very comfortable, with sufficient rains and fresh air.

The average temperature all year round is 19°C(66F).The coldest temperatures occur in January at 8°C(46F) and the hottest occur in July at 28°C(82F).

The best time to travel here is between April and October.

Located in southwestern China, Nanning is the capital of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, which borders Vietnam. It has a total area of over 22,600 sq. km. and a total population of over six million.

The city is a very good place to live; it even won the 2007 UN Habitat Scroll of Honor Award. With trees covering about 40% of its land, the city has an abundance of fresh air and a beautiful environment.

Baise, a city in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, borders on Yunnan in the west, Guizhou in the north, Nanning in the east and Vietnam in the south. It is home to seven ethnic minorities, among of which about 80% are the Zhuang.

Baise sits in a subtropical monsoon zone with plentiful light, heat, rain and heat. The average temperature all year round is between 19°C and 22.1°C. The weather is so moderate that green grass and flourishing flowers can be seen all year round.

Baise is also a mountainous city. It has abundant mine resources. Up to 2001, more than 50 mine varieties had been discovered.

Geographical Location: Kunming is located in the middle of Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau in the southwestern boundary of China.

The elevation level of most of the area is between 1,500 meters to 2,800 meters. Predominated by the landforms of mountains and plateaus, the relief decreases gradually from north to south. Lijiang lies in the northwest of Yunnan, southwest of China, approximately 360 kilometers (225 miles) from the Tibetan border by in road distance and 270 kilometers (168 miles) from the Burmese border in land distance.

Like other regions in Yunnan Province, Lijiang is diverse ethnically, with Bai, Pumi, Yi, Tibetans, Miao, and Lisu inhabiting its valleys and mountains.

The rainy season begins in late May and lasts until early November with storms possible in May and June.

Xamgyi'nyilha(Shangri-La) is just north of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. It covers an area of 11,616 square meters and has a population of nearly 130,000, the majority of which are ethnic Tibetans.

Kaili is a city in the Qiandongnan Miao and Dong Autonomous Prefecture in Guizhou province in China. It has a population of approximately 450,000. The area is 1306 km2. The postal code is 556000. A significant population of the Miao and Gejia people groups live in Kaili. It is a popular destination for backpackers and others seeking to experience rural China.

Zunyi, known as the "Famous City in History", is one of the two most important cities (Guiyang and Zunyi) of Guizhou Province, the People's Republic of China.

Zunyi is a prefecture-level city in Guizhou province in southwestern China. The two main district of the city, known as HuiChuan and Honghuagang, have a population of around 800,000 people, and the whole region, including 14 county-level administration area as a whole, has a population of approximately 7 million.

Location

Zunyi is located in North Guizhou province, situated at the side of the Xiangjiang River - a branch of Wujiang River. The altitude of the city is approximately 900 meters.

History

Zunyi is known for being the location where Mao Zedong was first elected to the leadership of the Communist Party of China, shortly before he led his Long March. Chinese tourists come to take photographs in the meeting hall where this historic election took place (at the Zunyi Conference).

Situated at 36º40'N and 117º00'E, Jinan neighbors Mount Tai to the south and the Yellow River in the north. The terrain of Jinan slopes down from south to north. There are two major water systems in Jinan-- the Yellow River and the Xiaoqing River. Daming Lake and Baiyun Lake are the major lakes.

Jinan has a long history. As a culturally famous city approved by the State Council, Jinan is glorified as the "Spring City" for its numerous springs.
