Located in the golden delta of Xiamen,Zhangzhou,Quanzhou in South Fujian,Anxi, which has the third largest population in Fujian ,is 60 km away from Xiamen and 50 km away from Quanzhou.It is in the mountains and neighbours the sea. It covers an area of 3057.28 km2 ,with a population of 1,080,000, and governs 24 towns and 460 villages.

The basic competitive abilities of intra-county economy of Anxi ranks among the top 100 counties of China and its economy strength has continuously ranked ahead of the top 10 counties in Fujian Province. The industrial economy is making speedy progress. Being the provincial level, Anxi Economic Development Zone of Fujian Province has a total planned area of 60 km2 with 12 km2 for the first phase.
