Should I resign from here

I was just a salesman.  But sometimes i should do other things in our company. Such as writing receipts like an accountant. To the worst thing is that, while i wrote them  yesterday, i have a big error. So a note of receipt have to be cancelled. And it will be a large loss. Of course,once our boss know that, he will be very angry. I want to  apologize to him. But  he is not in today. I'm afraid that i want to leave out of this company.Maybe I cannot have a good mood to work now. who can give a suggestion? whether should i resign from here or not?  I'm so confused now.

i think you'd better make it clear before you leave, this is the basic requirement to be a good salesman, please do think it over, hope it'll be fine

maybe u will learn a lots though do some thg:)
