It is a dangerous deal indeed!Very dangerous: for your term is FOB not CNF,and also the forwarder is appointed by your customer but not yours!

#8 is correct, if you do FOB, it is better to receive the 70% before delivery, if your customer do not accept, you should sign with the forwarder an agreement that do not release the original B/L without your instruction

y,y ?+v d!c"Dc0^? i think we must take risk.generally speaking, it is not very  dangerous. FOB NINGBO PORT, 30% ADVANCE PAYMENT , THE BALANCE PAYMENT SHOULD BE PAID WHEN YOU FAX TO YOU COPY OF B/L. WE DO LIKE THIS MANY TIMES, ALL SHIP FORWARDER SEND THE B/L TO US AND OUR CLIENT PAY THE BALANCE PAYMENT TO US .:)

it is not safe all the time! i agree with your this iidea. but i will do it because i trust my client and ship forwarder,i think the credit is very very important for buyer and seller !
0j3s&?1j,~z:l4a/z Maybe, my boss touch my idea, he is crazy business man, we make 100000USD goods if our client give us only 50000.00USD order.
1e}]Y%J6{/Ni but it is any down payment for more 50000.00usd, i also feel it is unimaginable . but he said : he trsut that client. i enjoy the way which he make business deeply.:)

which is right and which is wrong

2008-5-29 21:45 okurakk
1) First, I would say the agreed payment term is in seller favour, the buyer has more risks than the seller as buyer has to pay 30 pct in advance, therefore, it seems buyer has trust on seller.
:\qE G Q 2) Forwarder B/L does pose some risks but so does the House B/L if it is issued by unknown shipping company, therefore, a well-known and reputable international forwarder's B/L is acceptable. Do check the background of the forwarder before booking.
`Dmpm 3) Do not fax any undervalue invoice with company stamp to buyer before full payment as these could be used by buyer to apply bank guarantee  in exchange of shipping guarantee to collect cargo without B/L at the undervalue amount instead of the actual value.
e)b)];qt`XSb 4) There is no 100 pct safe payment term available unless 100 pct up front which is not practical. Just imagine, would you do that if you are buyer yourself?

nothing is 100% safe when you make business, business is business. :lol
