Is there a tariff difference if I have them ocean cargo to a port in Mexico and then brought into the US via rail or truck? How does customs look at this practice? Almost all Wire hangers used by dry cleaners in the US come from China. There is some anti dumping suit that may effect the duty of importing directly from China to US. To that point I need to know if there is a way to avoid such a high duty by using the services of a neighboring country to the US as the entry point to North America?[/size][/color][/size][/size][/font]

Hmmm, was not aware of that - not quite sure if duty savings will make up for the exstra vessel leg, but maybe. Anyway, I'd also check the possibility of shipping to Vancouver, Canada, as I'd imagine the ocean freight could be cheaper... It' s all just a suggestion, as I sadly do not have any updated information on US Customs. Ultimately, try contacting a broker (eg Maersk Customs Services) in the US, and check whether they could give you some more firm information.WM\b6so D
