[2008] A MEETING WITH KOREA CUSTOMER

Yesterday I received a telephone from a customer, but I found I can??t understand his English completely. It??s so bad:L . Yes, I have long time without to learn my English, so now just wrote down the meeting with my Korea customer Ms. Su in January, 2008 to exercise my English .

We??re doing the first order when Su told me she would visit us soon. It??s very glad to hear that, the visiting to us can strengthen the relation with customer. Because there were six factories Su to visit during her trip within one week, and they are in several provinces. She couldn??t confirm her schedule at once. We often talked how to arrange with her schedule in MSN, I checked the flight No. the distance between factories and so on, just hope to her visiting would be smoothly.   s8MbSH9h$Iuy+W_!C

After two weeks, the last schedule was confirmed. Su would visit us on Thursday, we??re the fifth factory she would visit. I told the director to make some preparation of the meeting, and book a room with computer in our hotel.[/color][/size]

On Thursday afternoon, Su called me she would arrive at Hangzhou airport at 20.00 from Tianjian. It??s take two hours from Jinhua to Hangzhou. After work, at 17:30 our driver with I went to Hangzhou airport.

About 19:40 we went to airport, it was early, we still in the car, outside was too cold. We got to the waiting room at 19:55, the flight would be arrive. It just 10 minutes but I felt I wait for half an hour at lease, many guest walk out, but still not saw a woman walked to us. Finally, a beautiful woman with purple coat looked at our card with customer??s name. Yes:P , she??s su, a young and gentle Korea woman, just like the woman we saw in Korea teleplay. Regarded and shaked hands, su asked me if the man together was our boss. He just our driver, I told her our boss was on business. I made a lie;P .[/size][/color]

On the way, we talked much, it??s the first that I talked so much with a customer on the way. Su??s English is easy to understand. She think Chinese speak English better than Korea. She told me it??s very difficult to learn English for Korean, because there isn??t any relation between English and Korean, while Chinese Pingying is a litter similar with English. Her specialty was English, so her English is good. Su is studying Chinese, they do big business with china. Sometimes we talk in Chinese, Su can speak a litter sentences. But her pronounce is not right, it??s difficult for me to understand her Chinese:L . gl@.MV&JtZ

In January, the weather was bad, it??s very cold and rainy. On the way, Su said many ?¡ãtoo cold?¡À. She said it??s the same winter in Korea, it??s cold outside, too, but it??s very warm in the room. In China, they saw many people wear Yurongfu or with thick clothes. Su was impressed much of it, so she remember the Chinese Yurongfu. I found I have more clothes than Su, too:P .  d5fV[`

Su had visited four factories in the North of China, and have gone to several provinces. It??s very far with two factories, each time the front factory sent her to another factory, most of her time was cost on the way, it just cost one or two hours visit a factory including had dinner at most. China is so big, she said she had to cost two hours on the way even by flight at least. Each time she visit China, she travel half of China, but Korea is smaller, they visit the factory easier. Su said in China the transportation is more convenient, there are so many highways, the speed of car is faster than in Korea. It??s very glad to hear that we are stronger than Korea:lol .[/size][/color]

4. Payment.
$BpCbx According to the original plan Su would check the quality of our first order before delivery. But she visit schedule was delayed, and now the goods had reached Korea port. So we talked the payment L/C. At first, we didn??t agree to make payment by L/C, it??s easy find discrepancy between the L/C and documents and have much trouble. Su said she??s various that we don??t like L/C, it??s a guarantee. In Korea, company good reputation all use L/C, I don??t know if this word is right. It??s my first time to do business with Korea customer. I just told her T/T is very much easier than L/C and the bank fee is cheaper than L/C. She said Korea bank is better than China??s. In Korea, the bank will make payment as soon as they accept the right document, while China bank pay to the exporter just when they get the money from abroad bank.Fay?'j:r

During talking, I got Su didn??t have supper, she said the food in plane was not delicious. I should asked for it when she got off. It will be 22:00 and too lately when we got to Jinhua and all restaurants closed. May the KFC still be open.  I asked if KFC is ok for her. She said it??s Ok. KFC is international food, so we talked it and Mcdonald??s. In Jinhua, the Mcdonald??s were not very popular, most people like KFC than it, so it closed soon. Su said it??s the same, Korea people like KFC more.M

In the morning, we went to the hotel to pick up Su at 9 o??clock. I called her I was in the hall.  And I waited for her in the door of the elevator, because Su had heavy baggage, I could help her with it. After several minutes, Su came down, she dressed more beautiful than last night.

In the car, we talked a litter. She told me the hotel breakfast was very delicious. She ate much. It??s very good, so we??ll have a smooth visiting.

Showing Su to the sample room, Su asked to check the first carton, which we made a press line on the lip. We thought it??s better for customers, actually we did wrong, Su said if have the line, they may had trouble in custom. I didn??t check it with Su at first, at last when Su found it in the picture, we had to make new carton. It??s my ignore didn??t check this point with customer. V3FkqL$l/g Second, Su required change the carton color in the second order, because the original yellow is not match with blue, and magnified the letters. If do that the price would be higher, she replied she??d confirm it when she come back to home with their customer. [4lSX(C'hj Su took some their samples to us, yes, all the samples we can produce. We show the similar to her. She??s satisfied with them. We are sure our quality is very good.

(cKf3ac.d#dK Finished the samples, Su visited our workshop. She took photos at each step. The workshops are noisily, and our products making is simple, so we didn??t introduce many, then show Su to our warehouse. Our factory is not large, the visiting is quickly.

She said she??d like to do more business with us. For news samples order, if we can offer competitive price, she would place order on us. Good news.

Came back to our sample room, we talked some and waited for the driver, he was washing the car. The air condition of the sample room can??t open, it??s very cold, It??s so sorry. Su and I both felt very cold, but we haven??t other office have air condition. The wait time was a litter long. k{PnLj&g

One and half an hour business was finished, so we talk Chinese together. Su told us she have been learned Chinese for four month, and learn one hour every day. Her pronounce is not very right, but she can speak many words. I admire her spirit of learn Chinese. [/color][/size]

!k3gh0T7B When ordered dishes, Su said warm food would be ok, our sample room was so cold, she need warm food. Except the fish and chicken she don??t like, we ordered most food. The restaurant not used menus, so ordered dishes easily.

Su, our director, the driver and I had dinner together. The waiter sent us one egg with boiled. Su didn??t know how to eat it. It??s a litter curious. Su ordered a bottle beer. At first she ordered the red wire, but our director, driver and I all don??t drink, and the red wire was a big bottle, so she changed a small bottle of beer. So it wouldn??t waste. She told me in China many people usually waster when had dinner. Our waster is so notorious, we must correct it and have customer a good impression.

There ??s one food was Jinhua??s steamed bread with bean curd with odor, it??s waiter introduced. We all like it, but Su thought it??s a litter terrible, she just ate less than half.

In the Korea teleplay, at home their floor is very clean, some people don??t use bed. Su explained the floor is not real wood, if it??s all wood, it??s very expensive. And now most of they sleep in the bed. Su showed us her home picture in her camera. It??s looks similar to us. h;z+QC
