Waste materials in Beijing have been used to make lanterns for the Lantern Festival which falls on February 21, 2008.

A photo taken recently from a celebration place at Chongwai area in southeast Beijing shows that people would like to illustrate their lanterns with the Olympic Rings, Beijing Olympic mascots, emblem and other Olympic elements.
