[experience]I lost my customer

Everything has been negotiated, including the PI. my customer informed me that he would delay the deposit to half a month later which is promised to be sent in three days  because of one important festival. I am eager to get this order, so i told him that the cost of material is rising, the quotation will be out of validity half a month later(actually, the quotation has counted the cost rising in). He replied me that he would re-affirm the price then. having no other way, i said, i will try my best to give you the best price. He send me an expression of suprise, then disappear, forever:') !

    i summarized this failure into two points,

2. If your customer is conservative and dealing with trade step-by-step, don't show your right on price...

#F_Q9y msx It is just my sad experience and my feeling of the reason why i lost him. anybody who could point out my mistake in the process of dealing with customers is welcomed! (maybe due to my poor english, i can't express my feeling very exactly:Q )

What a pity! I agree with ur summary.And i think trust is very important in business.Everybody dont want to be cheated.I wonder u can retrieve this customer if u can get his/her trust.

Maybe four monthes ago, I met him who is Australian. I gave him our quotation. And he felt much interesting in it. Then ask me how to do, I gave him our factory's bank information.

x4^W [ Ch Time has been past, I could not stand the time passing, and give him a call. He asked me to send him our banking information again. Because he forgot it. OK,I did what he asked.  At that time, he promised me that he will order the goods in January, 2008. Of course,I was very happy at that time.

Now, the time is 19th,February,2008. I have not seen his slip of deposit yet. I also have sent several E_mails to him, and never heard from him again.
