problem with assessing Chinese medical manufacturers
I have learnt a lot these days in order to identify which one is good medical business and which one is dodgy medical business in China.

My advice to those who want to import chinese made medical devices is that it's important to visit Chinese State Food and Drug Administration (SFDA) Information Center http://www.cmdi.gov.cn/ in order to verify medical products and medical manufacturers. Some chinese medical devices / equipments sold to overseas buyers are actually NOT registated with the SFDA, and CE certificates provided by these companies may not legitimate.C9@5D5`2J

I wanted to buy a small medical device lately, and I'm now not sure if I should give up. The problem is that a company in Qinhuangdao claimed they were the manufacturer and sent me their CE-certificate as evidence. A company in Wenzhou also claimed that they were the manufacturer. So one product has two manufacturers. The Wenzhou company doesn't have its own CE-certificate, and they sent me one which belongs to a Beijing company, which doesn't make the same device. I sent an email to the Beijing company to inquire how their CE certificate ended up in Wenzhou company's hand. I didn't get a reply. So now there are three companies involved in one product. Who is the real manufacturer? As an importer and sponsor of medical products, I have to know who is the manufacturer. n7[,o1js%I

I checked with Chinese State Food and Drug Administration Information Center online and couldn't find the name of the Wenzhou company. So I believe that the Wenzhou company is a con business. But one question still remains, i.e., why the Beijing company failed to reply my email? My suspicion is that the Wenzhou company paid a fee to Beijing company to use their CE certificate. We all know it costs a lot money to get through the CE certification process. But it will not now for sure until the Beijing tells the truth. Of course visiting the company is best way to solve the problem but it's not practical as there is no way I can go to china every time I need to import one new medical device.

2.) If you get EC number, you can check with EC website and then you can know who is the real manufacturer.*O.o,^']

3.) There are many factories who manufacture the same products. For example, there are thousands of factories who manufacture motorcycles and many of them have got CE certificate for their products. It is not surprizing that there are three companies to make one same products.

4.) If the price is good, quality is good and service is good and all the supplier provide can meet your expectency, why not complete the deal? Everybody wants to have a good living and everybody considers the cost and profit. `,? R*n,A
5.) Business is a kind of agreement, you both come to it, the you get the deal.

Manufacturers and traders have their own advantage and disadvantage. There they are and there is reason there they are.Jt.@_3\Zo^CT
Perhaps visiting is a costly way and Calling is a better way. Another reason why Beijing company did not reply is they have signed some agreement about cooperation and you mention the name of Wenzhou company in the e-mail. They can NOT reply.]:P3C'G1KAV6N

Give a chance to every body then perhaps you get a good deal from them. Otherwise it will be also a costly deal.

business is a deal, LOL
:) Peter is right about this, I was a medical student when in college, and I practised in a shanghai hospital, my major was laboratory medicine, and I deal a lot with the medical devices. thP7A*O
I'm afraid I never would want to work there, you dont see how they do the test, you never know how horrible it is. they never check upon the devices as suggested in introductions, if it's once a week job, they'd do it once a year, even though they know the bases (which we use to grow bacterias, virus) are disqualified ones, they'd still buy bases from the same shitty company just because the prices are cheaper, and after they use the bases, as long as they THINK it can be used again, they'd use it again, God, can you still believe the results they give you? too bad, anyone who is sick has to seek help from hospitals, what can I do, what can you do, and what can the government do?

this is just one hospital im now exposing, there're still great hospitals, and I dont doubt it, but most of the chinese hospitals are not too well qualified, that's what im worrying about. I hope I'll never go to the hospital ;P

here I say, business is a deal, cause I believe when you are doing business, you are making deals with them. as long as both sides are satisfied with the contract, it's all done :victory:
