Your telephone bills will become cheaper if Finance Minister P Chidambaram accepts the telecom operators' demand for a reduction in levies. Telecom levies in India are amongst the highest in the world.? The department of telecommunicatio  has been su orting the demand of telecom companies for a simplified tax structure. Operators have urged the government to charge a single levy at a reduced rate to ease their burden. Currently, telecom operators pay licence fee,  ectrum charges, ADC, service tax besides levies like stamp duty, entry tax and octroi charged by the states. What are your views on this?
