Yes, too many Chinese fellow here, I think we can help each other on English especially Oral Engl., even without English-spoken friends.
Watching movie, listen to English songs, news,  reading english articles ...are good way to improve our Eng..

Just wanted to say that it's difficult to find someone to be your language partner here because 1. Not many foreigners know about this site. 2. Those who are in China prefer to have someone who lives in the same city as them to be their partner. Meeting and discussing physically face to face can be more lively and you get to talk more after that little awkwardness of first meeting, etc. 3. Sometimes you want that other person to be completely detached from your current job environment, you want to relax, not feeling like you're bringing your job back home. 4. Not everyone is patient.

I know it's not exactly what this thread was about. Right now I am not looking for a language partner (especially over the net), so I didn't put my details there. And I didn't want to end up with loads of msn/yahoo/Skype/QQ invites. Maybe later when I am more settled down with my job.

I do think though that irrespective of finding a foreigner to help you practice or not, you should not give up. Learning and maintaining your fluency in a foreign language is hard. I am still trying to memorise the tones and try to pronounce clearly the 't', 'd', 'k' and 'g' in my Chinese. At least I am in China, so I get more opportunities to practice.

I've also noticed that many people want to learn the 'standard American/British' English, but you have to realise that not many people speak like this. Try talking to Americans or British people from different cities and you will find out that they speak with different accents.

Sorry, I got carried away. What I want to say is, learning a foreign language is hard. Even if you don't find a foreigner, keep practicing, practice between yourselves, and those who are more fluent can help the less abled ones. Do not give up on your dreams of speaking English, French, Spanish, Korean or whatever language you fancy. Keep up the good work.

If the post came out as a negative one, sorry, I didn't want it to come out like this. I've helped people practice their English and French before, but now I need a break.
